Why Michi
In American university classrooms, there's a popular 7/3/1 theory: 10% is instruct, which refers to what we commonly call instructional delivery; 30% is mentor, or sometimes called coach, which focuses more on professors guiding students in how to apply methods; and the remaining 70% is practice, meaning hands-on exercises and application.
Leaving aside the fact that many in-person classes overlook the alignment between instruction and practice, online classes often neglect even the most basic guidance and interaction. With just a little carelessness, they can easily turn into large-scale “talk shows” without substance—let alone achieving a proper balance between the more significant parts: coaching and practice.
So, rather than saying we resist the online class format itself, it's more accurate to say we resist the formality of attending class just for the sake of attendance.
